How to create soundtracks in Garage band

Once you open garage band you will be asked to choose what type of sound track you want to make, in this case; I am creating a sound track for a movie.

Once you have chosen your type of soundtrack you will be asked to name the file/soundtrack. Moreover you can change the tempo of the sound track here.

In this case I want to create  soundtrack for a film already made. In order to make a soundtrack, I would have to open the film/clip in the existing folder and drag it into garage band.

I am making a soundtrack for the clip, therefore I do not want any already existing sounds from the clip itself, to remove this sound you have to select the orange sound below the clip and press the delete button on your keyboard.

In the right bottom corner there is 3 buttons, by selecting the first button it allows you a selection of sounds and instrumentals to help create your sound track.

there are thousands of sounds and instrumentals you can choose from, here I have chosen a sound i have wanted.
To add this sound to the clip, you have to drag your selected sound and drop it under the clip, to extend the sound you have to drag the clip from the right along to however long you want the clip to last.

To add another sound track and not ruin the already existing sound you have to drag and drop it below the already existing sound.

To save the clip with your newly made soundtrack (on a mac) you have to select share in the top left  corner and select 'export movie to disc' then you can save your new clip.
