comparing skills from prelim to title sequence using GIF

Here I am comparing same shots with similar skills used. The prelim shot is very dark, and the shot is off centered. The title sequence shot is more clear, and has natural lighting.

The title sequence has a  clear long shot of the entire main characters body and her posture/attitude. But the prelim has the characters legs cut off, and he is far away from the camera, so he is not the main focus as he should be.

self evalutation

Throughout this project, I have come a long way in terms of the skills that I have learnt. I learnt how to use various technologies which improve the way my title sequence turned out. I also learnt that good teamwork leads to a better outcome as when everyone comes together it makes things such as filming and editing more productive.

Evaluation - Q2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The stereotypes included in my title sequence conform to general stereotypes as my group and I wanted to make the roles of the characters clear and not confuse the audience so they will understand where the rest of the movie is leading in the short amount of time. It allows them insight into the rest of the film so they know what themes to expect as this is what existing media products do.

These two characters are dressed in  a stereotypical way to represent the urban lower class.
We chose this attire so the audience would have an immediate understanding of the difference between the two classes.

The representation of the main character is to be perceived as negative in the near the beginning of the film and the intention was to change that into a positive as the film went on.
Another way that we tried to represent the character was through the music we chose which was fancy. This was chosen to imply that the character feels as though she is better than others who are not from her background.

Question 2

I have made a presentation on canva for this blog post please click on this link or look at the images below

This is an example of how we presented the social group of Rich Snobby Kids/Upper middle class

Costume:
The costume of the character which represents this social group was very important. We had our character have an expensive branded suitcase in order to represent our characters wealth moreover we had a her blazer customised for her. This further represents her social status as she has her signature 'Z' on her clothing and people will know her for her logo. Also the blazer and tartan skirt imply that she is preppy and well educated. These follow typical conventions of 'Rich snobby kids' as stereotypical conventions of this type of social group is to be wealthy and snobby.

Location:
We filmed this character in the bough of chelsea. This area is well known for having expensive houses and people of a higher status living here. Moreover our character is presented alongside houses with very detailed exterior. This was an important aspect of the representation of the upper middle class characters as people in this social group are often perfectionists who pay attention to detail and the detail of this exterior represents this characteristic of this certain social group.

This is an example of how we presented Urban Hood Kids

Location:
We represented this social group in an urban area as I wanted to follow typical conventions of those in this social group. The location exhibited loads of graffiti this emphasises the urban feel to it moreover, we filmed this social group in a tall block of flats that clearly belong to the council. I presented them in this to show their lower status and poorer wealth.

Costume:
The baggy clothing and dark clothing emphasises these characters social group. The baggy clothing suggests that they enjoy being in comfort and do not care about how they look, furthermore this is a typical outfit those of this social group wear. Moreover the dark clothing and cap highlight that they often cause trouble and like to hide their identity whilst doing so. The darkness of the clothing highlight they enjoy causing trouble at night.

Evauation - Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

In this video i have shown my editing skills on final cut pro that helped to produce the video i made for question 5. In the video i had learnt how to use split screen which is something that was not included in my title sequence. Throughout the construstion of this product i have also learnt and perfected my use of motion, garageband, camerawork and using different sources on the web to create presentations such as prezi, powtoon and emaze.

TimeToast of Credits

On timetoast it did no have an option of time, it only had the option of date. Instead of not showing what order the credits are shown in chronological order; I used my initiative and worked around this problem.
