What is Genre?
Genre is the style of art, music or literature. Pieces are categorized depending on what features of a certain they have us. There are many different genres in film such as drama, comedy, musical, horror, romance, action or thriller. Genre can be talked about in two ways: Semantic - the way the film looks or Syntactic - the story the film tells.
What is a Teen Drama Film?
Another genre of film is Teen Drama films which a lot of the time include and deal with topics like bullying, drugs, alcohol, romance, abuse, sexuality and school. Teen Dramas are split into two sub-genres High School Drama and Teen Drama. From its name you are able to assume that high school dramas are based in high-school and commonly include topics such as popularity, makeovers or shy girl meets popular boy and fall in love. Whereas Teen Dramas maybe more intense and include delinquency, drugs, abuse etc.
